The Vbeam Perfecta laser system is a world renowned, pulsed dye laser recognized as the gold standard technology for the treatment of vascular lesions. It delivers pulsed laser energy at a wavelength of 595 nm that passes through the dermis and epidermis skin layers and is absorbed by the oxyhemoglobin in the blood vessels rather than by the surrounding tissue.

What can I expect during the treatment?

At your treatment appointment, your eyes will be protected with special goggles. The laser beam is aimed at the skin. You will feel multiple “zaps” which may feel like rubber band snaps. The mist may also be sprayed onto the skin. Most of our patients tolerate this without any problems. Vbeam laser treatments are customized to meet your individual skincare needs. The number and duration of treatments will depend on the condition and your skin type. You can typically expect 2 to 4 treatment sessions, each lasting 10 to 30 minutes.

What is the downtime of this procedure?

Downtime after a Vbeam Perfecta treatment is minimal. Most patients resume their daily routine right away. Side effects are typically mild and temporary and may include some slight swelling or skin redness for 1-5 days. Certain conditions that we treat require a “purpuric setting”, which means it will bruise for 2-5 days after the treatment. Make up is allowed after treatment.
