Neurotoxins (Botox/dysport)
Neurotoxins (Botox/Dysport) are an extremely effective temporary wrinkle treatment that are ideal for dynamic wrinkles (wrinkles that form over time from repeated movements, such as smiling or frowning). Derived from Botulinum toxin, neurotoxins are injected through a very fine needle into a muscle underlying a bothersome wrinkle. This process blocks the nerve impulses that move the muscle, causing it to relax, resulting in a temporary smoother wrinkle and a softer-looking appearance. Neurotoxins are ideal for the upper half of the face, including the areas around the lateral eyes, between the eyebrows, and forehead. The treatment lasts an average of 3 months.
CO2 LASER RESURFACING (FRAXIS LASER)
CO2 resurfacing is a cosmetic procedure done in office by a board-certified dermatologist that is used to improve the appearance of skin texture, wrinkles, pores, and laxity. Our Fraxis Duo CO2 laser system is a highly sought-after system because it can integrate multiple advanced technologies into one platform, making it a “gold standard” device. This platform allows simultaneous use of RF microneedling with the CO2 procedure, thus treatments can be easily tailored to meet the specific cosmetic needs of our patients. Fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing yields dramatic improvement in skin tone and texture. This procedure evens out pigmentation and eliminates sunspots, as well as improves fines lines, including those around the mouth and eyes, giving the entire face a younger, refreshed appearance. By physically removing the top layers of damaged skin, CO2 laser resurfacing also has medical benefit, removing pre-cancers and stimulating growth of healthier younger skin. Dermal Fillers (Juvederm/Restylane)
Dermal fillers are substances injected just below the skin to fill deficiencies (lines and furrows) that result in a more youthful and rested appearance. In our practice, we use mostly hyaloronic acid fillers because they are a natural substance already present in the skin. Hyaluronic acid binds to the body’s natural moisture reserves for a natural-looking improvement to your appearance. Hyaloronic acid fillers come in many different viscosities, that depend on the location that needs to be filled. All products can be discussed during your consultation with a board-certified Dermatologist. This treatment results in very little down time.
Skin Tag Treatment
Skin tags can be treated during your medical office visit. They are considered a cosmetic treatment. Treatment type depends on the size and location, but are usually treated with cryotherapy, cautery, or snipping under local anesthesia.
